For an embedded device, TLS certificate validation presents some unique challenges. The obvious problem is the limited processing power, but the real issue is that a typical root CA bundle is well over 100KB and there may not be enough storage available for it. One possible workaround is simply authenticating the server’s public key based on a hash, similar to how SSH works. While there are some drawbacks, this is secure if implemented cor..

The file that needed to be included was defined as a CICD -variable coming from an external API -call that triggered the CI -pipeline. The file were called after version-numbers, e.g. .gitlab/vars/1.0.yml or .gitlab/vars/2.0.yml. This was their content: variables: LONG_VERSION: "1.0.0" SHORT_VERSION: "1" more: varia..

Dylan Field (CEO Figma) [09:02]: "Is natural language the interface? Yes right now. I‘ve said this before but I really believe it, I think we will look back at this era as the MSDOS era of AI, and the prompting and natural language that everyone is doing today is just the start of how we are going to create interfaces to explore latent space. So I cannot wait for an explosion of creativity there. I think of these models as an N-dimensional..

I got asked how I manage papers, notes, and citations for doing research. I started writing out a very long Slack message, but it quickly passed the threshold where I ought to just turn it into a blog post. The short of it: I’m an incorrigible Emacs user, so I do a lot through my editor of choice on my laptop. That said, Zotero is a fabulous piece of technology, and I rely on it heavily to get my work done. General recommendations ....

If you use git rebase, the answer to this article’s question is probably yes . You will mostly likely love Jujutsu. Proceed to Part Two . Do not pass Go. Do not collect two hundred dollars. If you don’t use git rebase, you might s..

I worked in an organization with lots of processes. I was in an office with no windows, a bit of a hole or maybe even oubliette. You couldn’t tell time of day, weather, etc but it was better than a cubicle. My door opened to a 10 foot hallway with and about 5 feet down there was a large window. It was a weird L-shape and no one else’s office or cube or anything was in the hallway to nowhere. So it was kind of nice that no one walked by an....
