Thanks for this post, I am using the uialert which is a real pain as it always need a uifigure. The uifigure is relatively hugly and the uialert can be closed by closing the figure. There is no way to set the uifigure Visibility to "off" as it hides the uialert. Resizing the uifigure to the uialert size manually is doable but painful. Especially the title bar is still visible. Any way to work around this?

I really enjoyed this book — its final lines even surpassed The Great Gatsby as my favorite closing lines of a novel. But I couldn’t find myself justifying a rating higher than 4/5 when I broke it down and tried to explain what exactly I enjoyed so much in it. I caught myself after a few minutes, smiled, and realized in some ways that’s what Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance was all about. I’m a very analytical person. I think....

This adventures starts with a simple eBPF program to transparently redirect DNS requests on port 53 for a single program (or docker container). To do this I used BPF_CGROUP_INET4_CONNECT on a cgroup. That lets me inspect and redirect traffic when syscall.connect occurs from within the cgroup. Here is a simplified version 👇 int handle_connect_redirect ( struct bpf_sock_addr * ctx , __be32 original_ip , bool ....

Enemy AI My latest side project is a 2D shooter where the enemies plan their attacks. I’m using a technique called Goal Oriented Action Planning. This approach was used in an old game from the 2000s called F.E.A.R. It was a sort of spooky tactical shooter. Think Rainbow Six but with that creepy girl from The Ring hanging about the place. In FEAR, the enemies could flank the player and provide suppressing fire. They could stay in cover and ....
