At work, a large part of my focus is stereo vision. Well, a coworker and I needed to attend a three day training seminar, which we expected would be quite boring. So, we grabbed a pair of cameras, secured their baseline by attaching them to a small metal beam, zip tied the beam to a 12V power supply, and shoved the whole thing into a pelican case so we could continue working on interesting things while we were there.

A variety of updates have just rolled out. Firstly there is the new look and feel which I am actually proud of. The website looks far better, which wasn’t hard considering how awful it looked before. The other update is that documentation and code results are mixed together now. An example of this would be the search for mysql_query which displays the PHP reference which has mysql_query in it above the code results.

My old laptop finally seemed to be on its last legs, so I began shopping. I’m the kind of guy who will do research for a month before spending $100 on a hand-held vacuum cleaner, so you can imagine how I deal with something having three or more zeros in its price tag. For most users this is something you delay as long as possible as you can generally go for sometime before you have to worry about it. Additionally scaling up your database is often a reasonable approach early on and something I encourage as a starting point as scaling up is easy....

I like Vim and I like using ‘J’ and ‘K’ to scroll text down and up. I know about Vimperator/Vimium, but they seem too powerful to me. That’s why I started my NIH browser extension. At the moment, Firefox and Chrome are supported. Here are the sources. Any advice or comments are welcome!
