I registered my original eBay account on April 1st, 1999 in Germany. I’ve used it ever since, mainly to buy and occasionally to sell. Having registered the account in Germany meant that I always had this funny side effect of My eBay switching to the German eBay site w..

Typing on the Squeezebox keyboard is coming along nicely. No real issues with it as my daily driver at the moment. I'm still tweaking my keymap but only in incremental ways. Keymap tweaks Reduce keys from 42 to 36 My main goal right now is to shrink from 42 keys to 36 by eliminating the outer most pinky columns. The reach there requires taking most fingers away from the home corner and is really disruptive. Luckily, earlier versions of th....

The curriculum for the CKA shows that it goes deeper into the different parts of Kubernetes. I have some experience with Kubernetes via Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). But, I was new to provisioning underlying infrastructure to deploy a Kubernetes cluster performing a manual upgrade with kubeadm interacti..

It’s no secret that coffee is one of the most important factors in the development of any technology, including software. In this post, I’ll outline how you can create the perfect cup of coffee to enhance your love of the bean as well as boost software development productivity. Over the years, I’ve needlessly spent thousands of dollars on expensive coffee-making equipment, including fancy coffee grinders and expresso machines.

My grandmother Hilda used to bake this for us grandkids. I don't know the origin of the recipe, but my parents, aunts, and cousins, they all bake it too. I'm a big fan, but only get to eat it when visiting. Yesterday, I changed that. Finally baked it myself ø/ Ingredients 200g salted butter 2 cups (400 g) sugar 4 eggs 3 cups (375 g) plain flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vanilla extract 1 cup (250 ml) milk 2 tablespoon....

In your opinion what are some of the most beautiful languages? Do you know why you find them beautiful or do you just vibe? (It doesn’t need to be only with regard to syntax) >Elixir Pattern matching and the pipe operator are nice. The way the actor model solves concurrency and reliability very elegantly without the brittleness of some type systems. The ruby syntax. It’s just a nice language. In the previous post , I covered some problems with the outlier detector based on Tukey fences. Mainly, I discussed the probability of observing outliers using Tukey’s fences with different factors under different distributions. However, it’s not the only problem with this approach. Since Tukey’s fences are based on quartiles, under multimodal distributions, we could get a situation when 50% of all sample elements are marked as outliers...
