Urnu do hrobu ve čtvrtek uložili rodinní příslušníci, přátelé i zástupci francouzského velvyslanectví či města Brna. Informoval o tom magistrát města. Kundera zemřel v Paříži 11. července 2023, bylo mu 94 let. Věra Kunderová zemřela 13. září 2024.
