Emacs wdired is a beautiful thing. You turn a directory representation into an editable buffer and you can do some magic. In this post we'll build a database in 400 lines of code with basic support for five standard SQL transaction levels: Read Uncommitted, Read Committed, Repeatable Read, Snapshot Isolation and Serializable.
